Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of media mogul Robert Maxwell, became one of the most prominent figures in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal. She used her elite social connections, charm, and facade of respectability to recruit and groom underage girls for Epstein's sexual abuse. Born into privilege in France and raised in England, Maxwell moved to New York after her father's mysterious death and massive financial scandal in 1991. She quickly became romantically involved with Jeffrey Epstein and embedded herself in New York's social elite.
