Dennis Rader

Dennis Lynn Rader terrorized the Wichita, Kansas area for decades as the self-named "BTK" killer - an acronym for his method: Bind, Torture, Kill. Between 1974 and 1991, he murdered 10 people while maintaining an outwardly normal life as a husband, father, church president, and city compliance officer. Digital forensics traced the disk to "Dennis" at Christ Lutheran Church. DNA from his daughter's medical records confirmed the match. Rader confessed to all 10 murders in 2005 in a calm, detailed manner that disturbed even seasoned investigators. He was sentenced to 10 consecutive life terms with a minimum of 175 years.
