Biographie
Jordan Ross Belfort founded Stratton Oakmont, a Long Island brokerage firm that became one of the largest and most corrupt boiler room operations in Wall Street history. At its peak, the firm employed over 1,000 stockbrokers and was involved in stock issues totaling more than $1 billion.
Belfort's scheme was built on "pump and dump" operations: his brokers would aggressively sell penny stocks to unsuspecting investors, artificially inflating prices, then Belfort and his associates would sell their own holdings at the peak, leaving investors with worthless shares.
His lifestyle became legendary - mansions, yachts, helicopters, and rampant drug use fueled by tens of millions in stolen money. At his peak, Belfort was spending $700,000 a month on drugs alone and once sank his 167-foot yacht in a Mediterranean storm while high.
The FBI and SEC investigation culminated in his 1999 indictment. Belfort cooperated with authorities, wearing a wire to help convict numerous associates. He was sentenced to 4 years in federal prison (serving 22 months) and ordered to pay $110 million in restitution to his victims.
Profil Psychologique: ENTP
Belfort is a textbook example of ENTP cognitive functions weaponized for fraud:
**Dominant Ne (Extraverted Intuition):** His ability to see possibilities everywhere - finding new stocks to manipulate, new angles to pitch, new ways to circumvent regulations - shows classic Ne dominance. He constantly generated novel schemes and adapted when old ones were discovered.
**Auxiliary Ti (Introverted Thinking):** His understanding of market mechanics, securities law loopholes, and the logical frameworks of financial systems shows strong Ti. He didn't just con people emotionally - he built sophisticated structural fraud.
**Tertiary Fe (Extraverted Feeling):** His legendary charisma, ability to inspire his salesforce, and skill at reading and manipulating investor emotions show well-developed Fe. His motivational speeches at Stratton Oakmont were masterclasses in emotional manipulation.
**Inferior Si (Introverted Sensing):** His complete disregard for consequences, reckless drug use, and inability to maintain stable routines show classic ENTP neglect of Si. He lived entirely in the moment, burning through money as fast as he stole it.
