How ESTPs Handle Money
ESTPs treat money the way they treat life โ as something to be engaged with actively, boldly, and in the present moment. They are the most action-oriented of all types when it comes to finances, making quick decisions about spending, investing, and earning that would make more cautious types anxious. ESTPs live by the principle that money is meant to be used, not hoarded, and that the best financial opportunities reward those who act fast. ESTPs are often excellent earners, particularly in fields that reward competitive drive, quick thinking, and persuasion โ sales, entrepreneurship, trading, real estate, and business development. They have a natural talent for negotiation and deal-making that translates directly into higher income. Their financial confidence means they are comfortable asking for raises, switching jobs for better pay, and pursuing lucrative opportunities without hesitation. The ESTP's financial challenge is the flip side of their strengths: impulsivity and risk tolerance that can lead to significant losses. They may take outsized financial risks without adequate analysis, spend lavishly in the moment without considering long-term consequences, or chase high returns without understanding the downside.
