Biographie
Pol Pot, born Saloth Sar, led the Khmer Rouge to power in Cambodia in 1975, initiating one of the most radical and devastating social experiments in human history. His regime sought to transform Cambodia into a rural, classless society by evacuating cities, abolishing money, private property, and religion.
Born into a relatively prosperous farming family, Pol Pot studied in Paris in the 1940s, where he became attracted to Marxism. Returning to Cambodia, he gradually rose through the Communist Party ranks while maintaining an outwardly mild and unremarkable persona.
Upon seizing power in April 1975, the Khmer Rouge immediately evacuated Phnom Penh's entire population of 2 million to the countryside. Intellectuals, professionals, and anyone with education were targeted for "re-education" or execution. Wearing glasses or speaking a foreign language could be a death sentence.
The regime established the notorious S-21 prison (Tuol Sleng), where an estimated 17,000 people were tortured and killed. Across the country, "killing fields" became mass graves for hundreds of thousands. The regime's agricultural policies led to widespread famine.
Vietnam invaded Cambodia in 1979, ending the Khmer Rouge's rule. Pol Pot fled to the jungle and continued leading guerrilla operations until his death in 1998, never facing trial for his crimes.
Profil Psychologique: INFJ
Pol Pot represents the INFJ shadow at its most catastrophic - idealistic vision corrupted into genocidal fanaticism:
**Dominant Ni (Introverted Intuition):** His singular vision of an agrarian utopia - a society purified of modern corruption and returned to a pristine state - demonstrates powerful but catastrophically distorted Ni. He saw a future that existed only in his mind and forced reality to conform to it.
**Auxiliary Fe (Extraverted Feeling):** His ability to inspire fanatical devotion in Khmer Rouge cadres and his rhetoric about collective good and national purity show Fe in service of ideology. He manipulated communal values to justify individual annihilation.
**Tertiary Ti (Introverted Thinking):** His systematic categorization of "enemies" - intellectuals, urbanites, ethnic minorities, the religious - and his logical framework for social engineering show Ti organizing the ideology into actionable genocide.
**Inferior Se (Extraverted Sensing):** His disconnect from the physical reality of suffering - living comfortably while millions starved - and his retreat into abstract ideology over concrete human experience demonstrate classic INFJ Se blindness at its most dangerous.
