Timothée Hal Chalamet was born on December 27, 1995, in New York City, to Nicole Flender, an American dancer and actress, and Marc Chalamet, a French journalist. He grew up in Hell's Kitchen, spending summers with his French grandparents in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon — a village whose history of sheltering Jewish children during the Second World War became an important part of his cultural identity.
